Understand Before You Decide

Pre-Settlement Funding
Costs and Repayment

Applying is free. If you accept funding, the agreement explains the amount advanced and the costs repaid from your recovery.

Amount You Receive

Confirm the amount approved, what will be delivered to you, and any deductions listed in the agreement.

Amount Repaid

Review all applicable charges, how they are calculated, and how the payoff changes over time.

Money Remaining

Funding costs reduce the proceeds remaining from your settlement. Discuss the overall distribution with your attorney.

Questions to Ask Before Signing

Your written agreement controls the terms. Request a dated payoff statement when preparing for settlement; an earlier estimate may no longer apply.

What Does Non-Recourse Mean?

Graylock describes its funding as a non-recourse advance: repayment comes only from settlement or judgment proceeds. If you do not win or settle, you owe nothing. Review the full agreement with your attorney and ask about any conditions before accepting.

No rate or repayment amount is quoted on this page because the applicable terms must come from your actual offer.

Fair Pricing That Recognizes the Risk

Non-recourse funding carries real uncertainty: a case may take longer than expected or produce no recovery. Pricing needs to reflect that risk, but it should also respect the financial needs of the person receiving the advance.

Graylock is committed to keeping costs competitive and helping you understand what an offer means for you. Our paralegal staff brings case experience to that conversation. Ask us to explain the total payoff, how it may change over time and how the requested amount affects what remains from your recovery.

The goal is useful support today with a clear understanding of the cost tomorrow. Compare written offers for the same amount received and the same possible repayment dates.

Compare Offers Using the Same Questions

Start with the amount you will actually receive, then ask for the total payoff at several possible settlement dates. Comparing the same advance amount and time periods makes different offers easier to understand. Ask whether charges change with time and whether any other fees or conditions apply.

A smaller advance may help with immediate expenses while reducing the amount committed from a future recovery. Review what you need now and consider other resources available to you. Your attorney can help explain how the funding terms interact with the expected settlement distribution.

Understand Your Net Settlement Proceeds

The settlement amount is not necessarily the amount you receive. Attorney fees, case expenses, applicable liens and funding repayment may affect the distribution. Ask your attorney to explain which deductions apply to your case and how the estimated remainder is calculated.

An estimate is useful for planning, but it is not a final payoff or a promise of a particular recovery. The timing of settlement, additional funding and the actual agreement can change the figures. Request an updated payoff when settlement is being prepared.
